New Delhii: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday expressed confidence that the BJP will win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with an even bigger majority.
On the last day of the BJP’s two-day national executive meeting on Tuesday, members of the party’s apex panel agreed to extend the tenure of BJP national president JP Nadda till June 2024.
Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the national executive meeting at the NDMC Convention Center in the national capital on Tuesday, Shah said, “I am confident that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and (JP) Naddaji will win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with an even bigger majority.” Modiji will return to lead the country as Prime Minister.

Since assuming office on 20 January 2020, the same year the Covid-19 pandemic gripped the country, the party has made significant progress under Shah, praising Nadda for his efforts in his role as the party’s national chief.
“During the pandemic, our party did important work under Nadda-ji’s leadership, be it providing free food and ration to the poor or taking virus-infected people to hospitals for check-up and treatment,” Shah added.
He further claimed that the BJP is the only political party in the country which works to advance democracy.
“BJP is the most democratically run party in the country. From the inception of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh till today, elections in the BJP – from the booth-level to the national president – have always been held in accordance with the party’s constitution,” Shah added.
The Union Home Minister further said that under the leadership of Nadda, the party organization has worked on the principle of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ (Seva Hi Sangathan) from the booth to the national level.
According to sources, the extension of Nadda’s term was proposed by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and was unanimously agreed to by the members of the National Executive.
