The ambitious project, which aims to connect five major states of India, from Gujarat to Maharashtra, is envisioned as an engineering marvel.

It is the first highway in Asia to have an animal overpass and a wildlife crossing, with facilities such as charging stations for electric vehicles, helipads, trauma centers and dedicated lanes for electric vehicles.

There are also SOS stations every two kilometers to seek help in case of accidents or other emergencies.

The opening of the Sohna-Dausa route will connect Haryana’s Gurugram, Sohna, Nooh, Mewat and Rajasthan’s Alwar and Dausa with the mega expressway.

The Delhi-Dausa route has eight entry and exit points. With a top speed of 120 km/h for all vehicles, the highway can save around 300 million liters of fuel and 800 million kilograms of Co2 emissions annually.

There are automatic toll booths all along the highway and the toll tax will be deducted only once – from the moment one enters the highway until the moment one exits. There is a toll tax of ₹70 for the 220 km Delhi-Jaipur journey, which comes to 35 paise per kilometre.
