Singh was traveling with Rahul Gandhi on the Bharat Jodo Yatra when he collapsed due to a heart attack this morning. The trip has been suspended for now. Chaudhary was rushed to a hospital in Phagwada where he was declared brought dead.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has condoled the death of Singh.
“Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Congress Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary. May God rest his soul,” Mann tweeted.
Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also tweeted about the death of the MP.

“Deeply saddened to hear of the sudden demise of MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary ji today due to a heart attack. My condolences are with the entire family in their time of sorrow. Waheguru ji may the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted.
