Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School was established on 9 April 1894 by Maharani Tulsibati in the palace compound under the name Agartala Balika Vidyalaya as a manifestation of her concept of “girls’ education”.
Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha unveiled a life size statue of Maharani Tulsibati at Tulsibati Girls HS School in Agartala.
Maharani Tulsibati was a prominent queen of the royal family of Tripura who ruled for more than 500 years and is now remembered for her divinity and invaluable patronage towards society. Maharani Tulshivati did many things and people remember her with respect.
Maharani Tulshibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School was established on 9 April 1894 by Maharani Tulsibati in the palace compound under the name Agartala Balika Vidyalaya as a manifestation of her concept of “Girls’ Education”.
Later it was renamed as Maharani Tulshibati Balika Vidyalaya after being transferred outside the palace compound. Since then it has been catering to girls irrespective of class, caste, religion and creed by imparting quality education and developing their full potential.
“Tulsibati HS School is a Vidyajyoti School, affiliated to CBSE Board in the heart of the city. The community has felt the need to install a lifetime statue,” said school officials.
