Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah’s recent remarks on Indian Muslims after the Taliban regime in Afghanistan went viral. Now, he has explained how some of Bollywood’s biggest filmmakers and actors make Pro-Establishments films. He said he had no evidence that filmmakers and actors were being promised a clean chit to make pro-establishment films, but he felt that was clear from the way the films were being made at present.
Big people can’t hide the fundamentalist agenda
Nasiruddin said, “The efforts of pro-government and beloved leaders are appreciated and they are being encouraged by the government to make films. They are also given financial help for this. If they make such a film, they are assured of a clean chit. Big people can’t hide the fundamentalist agenda. Shah, a three-time national award winner, made it clear that being a Muslim, he has never been discriminated against in the field, but also noted that artists in the industry are harassed for speaking their minds. Why did the famous ‘Teen Khan’ decide to remain silent at that time? “I can’t talk about them, but I can imagine how much they will suffer,” Nasiruddin said. “They (Khan) are worried about the nature of the atrocities against them. They have so much to lose.
Whoever dares to speak is persecuted
The veteran actor further said that it is not just a financial harassment but it can be a loss of any kind of recognition, but it will be a matter of harassing their entire establishment. He further said that anyone who dares to speak is harassed. It could be anyone, not just Javed Saheb or me. Those who speak out against this right ideology suffer. ” Nasiruddin Shah has been a part of the Indian film industry for almost 5 decades and he has written ‘Nishant’, ‘Akrosh’, ‘Mirch Masala’, ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Mandi’, ‘Ardhasatya’, ‘Jane Bhi’. He has done some great films like ‘Do Yaaro’. He has also been honored for his films.
